Dr. Shtern is invited to present lab research as part of a special UNESCO-organized panel on global internet indicators at IAMCR in Cartagena from July 16-20, 2017. Lab member Steph Hill will also be at IAMCR presenting her paper called: “From Political Action to Earned Media: Representation, Corporate Speech, and the North Carolina Bathroom Law”.

This March, Dr. Shtern will be conducting a social media workshop for the Toronto Youth Cabinet Summit, to be held at City Hall. This event will be conducted with fellow assistant professor Dr. Miranda Cambpell. Further details will be announced shortly.
Dr. Shtern attended the ten year review of the UN World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) at the UN campus in New York. (Dec 15-16, 2015).
